At the time of her internship, Laura was studying International Management in Dortmund. We asked her why she decided to do an internship in China:
“I wanted to work in trade. Today it is vital in that field to have work experience abroad. China plays such a big role in the economy and today’s global trade, it was for sure the best place to go to.”
Laura is convinced that her experience in China was a big plus on her CV, which made her stand out when looking for jobs after graduation.
“My first job after my studies was in Merchandising, but I have now moved to the sourcing department of a big company. It was great and helpful to be able to show employers I had worked in China.”
Laura says her highlight of the trip however is not just the internship itself:
“The whole program is great. All the activities, the trips and seminars made the experience more enriching.”
She also became good friends with the other interns:
“I am still in contact with many of then !”
Her tips for future interns ?
“Go for it! You can only learn from it.”
