CRCC Asia collaborates with a diverse range of law firms, covering a broad spectrum of legal areas, including Corporate and Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Rights Law, Business Law, and Immigration Law. Additionally, interns may have opportunities with agencies specializing in immigration or relocation, or roles that combine legal tasks with market regulation research. Flexibility and openness to various aspects of legal work are essential. It’s important to note that this sector is highly competitive. Generally, placements are favored for internships longer than 1 month. Legal placements are predominantly available in Ho Chi Minh City and are limited in other locations.

Ideal Candidates

– Should be pursuing a pre-law degree or currently enrolled in a JD program, demonstrating strong research and writing skills.
– Possess excellent proofreading, editing, and writing abilities.
– Relevant experience in legal projects or hands-on work within a legal firm is beneficial.
– Candidates must be capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and have a keen interest in international law.
– Bilingual abilities are ideal and are required in some companies in other locations outside of Ho Chi Minh City.

Typical Responsibilities

Legal Research
Conduct in-depth research on legal topics, case law, and statutes to support ongoing cases or projects.

Drafting & Proof-reading Legal Documents
Assist in preparing and reviewing legal documents and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.

Shadowing Lawyers
Observe and assist lawyers in their daily tasks, gaining insights into legal procedures and client interactions.

Translating Documents
Translate legal documents as needed, ensuring precise and contextually accurate translations.

Administrative Support to Lawyers and Professionals
Offer administrative assistance, including scheduling, correspondence, and file management, to support legal professionals.

Developing Case-Relevant Information
Gather and organize information pertinent to legal cases, supporting case preparation and strategy.

Reports Writing
Prepare detailed reports on legal research, case progress, or other relevant topics.

Shanghai, as a major global financial hub, offers legal interns the opportunity to work in a highly competitive and internationalized environment. With China’s complex legal landscape and emphasis on corporate and commercial law, students will gain experience in regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and international trade law. Interns will also benefit from exposure to legal practices in one of the most fast-paced business ecosystems, learning how global markets intersect with Chinese laws.

Tokyo
Tokyo’s legal sector is among the most sophisticated in Asia, hosting top domestic and international firms serving multinational corporations and foreign investments. Legal services span corporate law, mergers, intellectual property, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. Interns gain experience in legal research, document preparation, translation, and case reviews. Navigating complex global and local regulations, the sector adapts to challenges like Japan’s aging population, globalization, and emerging technologies such as fintech and AI.
