Global Sustainable Development: Innovation for the future

This carbon-neutral program explores sustainable development initiatives in Thailand aimed at improving people’s lives and reducing carbon emissions with a unique focus on Thai Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP).

You’ll learn from communities and experts about responsible tourism and sustainable ways of living that can be incorporated in daily life. These methods, rooted in SEP, are aimed at improving people’s quality of life and are directly aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through hands-on activities such as learning about organic pomelo farming and the techniques of using local materials to create sustainable products, contributing to no-carbon village projects by planting mangrove trees, and exploring urban waste management efforts, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of sustainable development from both urban and rural perspectives.

You will also venture into Thai culture and history by visiting floating markets, exploring the famous folding umbrella train market, and even learning organic Thai massage techniques!
By participating in community-based eco-tourism projects, visiting royal Thai sustainability initiatives, and exploring urban resilience solutions, you’ll gain practical knowledge on how local communities and cities are driving initiatives towards sustainability.

This program welcomes students and young professionals from all academic backgrounds, with a preference for those specializing in fields such as Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Business, Urban Planning, and Environmental Policy.

"My internship 100% affected everything – I am doing my dissertation on the luxury market in China. I gained a huge insight working at Christie’s with my primary research being aided by my colleagues from there. If I hadn’t done this internship, I would know which direction to be heading in. I worked at Christie’s Auction House and was directly involved in all aspects of the one of their biannual auctions. Work tasks included implementation of the auction, PR, advertising and being knowledgeable about the works of art, their expected value and the price they actually sold for.”
