Beijing
Home to world-class wonders including the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China, Beijing certainly won’t leave you short of things to see and do: Snap a photo of the 2012 Olympic stadium, shop in the stylish Sanlitun district and stumble across indie cafes in the historic Nanluoguxiang hutong. When the hustle and bustle gets too much, you can always relax with a stroll in the Summer Palace.
Shenzhen
Where in the world can you find cutting-edge technology, picturesque beaches, and a vast array of theme parks? It can only be Shenzhen, situated just above Hong Kong on China’s tropical Southern coast. Shenzhen is the perfect place for those looking to immerse themselves in China’s cultural and business environment, and is a fascinating alternative to China’s main tourist hubs. Challenge yourself to an adventure, form lifelong networks and build unique memories via our Shenzhen internship program!
Shanghai
Shanghai made its start as a traditional trading port and today remains a stronghold for globalized consumerism. As the heart of commercialism in China, shopping malls, markets, and international influence make it a uniquely globalized experience with easily accessible western media and food. Shanghai also houses one of the fastest growing stock markets in the world. In between the high-rises you can still find family-owned shops preserving a more traditional Shanghainese lifestyle. During the internship you have the chance to take advantage of the fast-paced and exciting dynamics of the landscape of one of China’s most beautiful cities.

“CRCC Asia and The University of Wollongong has been an incredible platform in securing an internship on an international scale.
Being a finance major, working in one of Asia’s key financial hubs have proven to be highly rewarding. It has become one of the best experiences of my life and has become a definite standout on my resume and LinkedIn. Having internship experience alone is highly regarded by recruiters but the international component and of course the added travel benefits makes it an invaluable experience.
I was fortunate enough to intern at a financial services company, which was located in the world’s second tallest building- The Shanghai Tower. The CEO of my workplace was the previous CEO of Microsoft Asia and one of China’s many billionaires.
Being in not only his proximity but by also working within a large firm with many professionals had a positive impact on my perspective of the work life and Chinese professional culture. It also gave me the opportunity to learn a great deal of the language and socialise with locals; often going out for lunch, dinner or on one occasion a weekend away to Beijing. Interning with this company wasn’t the usual photocopying boring role, I was given the opportunity to work on real-time business projects, often pitching to the company’s many executives as well as being a key analyst on multiple large scaled investment deals.
CRCC through this internship experience has reconfirmed my love for the industry, for Asia, for dumplings, for travel and has also given me the opportunity to connect with so many amazing people from all over the world. I highly recommend the experience for anyone looking for a trip of a lifetime with the inclusion of industry experience and course accreditation. Because of CRCC Asia and The University of Wollongong, I have been able to leverage my experiences and skills learnt in China to talk about in interviews and break into the competitive workforce. Since my return, I have already found a way to get back to Asia to finish my studies abroad and I now aim to work overseas in Asia upon completion of my undergrad degree.”
